Gas Emergency

Earthquakes

Your gas meter automatically shuts off the flow when an earthquake more than 5 in intensity occurs.
Please refer to the "No Gas Flow" section and try to resume the flow at the gas meter after the quake stops.
If the flow does not restart or if you smell gas, please contact us and have safety inspections carried out.

  1. Ensure your safety first

Hide in such places like under a table and protect your head with cushions or magazines. Keep away from fires during severe earthquakes, even if you are using gas appliances.

  2. Shut off the gas after the earthquake stops

After the quake stops, remain calm and shut off gas appliances, and unplug electric appliances.

  3. If you smell gas

If you smell gas, do not use any kind of flame, and do not touch electric switches such as that of ventilation fans.
Shut off the main gas valves and LPG cylinder valves if possible, open windows to ventilate, and contact us.

  4. Make sure it is safe before using gas

Make sure there is no gas smell, and then open the gas valve. When the gas does not come out, the safety device of the gas meter is working. Check the display on the gas meter and perform the recovery process.
